An exercise joke
Monday, May 30th, 2005" … and my doctor, he didn’t help me lose weight either. He told me to run 5 miles a day for two weeks. I
called him and said ‘hey, doc, I’m 70 miles from my house.’"

If it doesn’t kill you … everything is good for you … if it doesn’t kill you — sorry I’ve got Crowded House on the brain.
So, yes, right, so who can resist a deep-fried delectable like this, served up a paper plate slowly absorbing grease like a Bounty paper towel, coated with powdered sugar? Uh, no. I didn’t actually eat one. The kabobs were excellent though.
I’ve been hopelessly absent from this site lately. Work has consumed my time. So a recap of the events of late April and May –
After Maricela’s trip back east, and going to, then returning from, Tucson, I promptly met up with Stacey, Eli, John and Michelle at the Apple Blossom festival in Winchester. Lovely. Big parade. Floats. Local oddities. Unhealthy food (see pic). Beer. Makeshift shelters from the rain. Oh - and apple blossoms.
After the festival, returned back with S. and E. to West Virginia to see Eli’s family AND for a first glimpse of the one and only — River.
The following weekend was Mother’s Day. Mom came down to Columbia. Went out for dinner at Mama’s on the Half Shell (THE place for top-notch seafood in the B’more area). Watched baseball. Got some home-cooking. Some tidying of the pace. And some moral support as I assembled my new entertainment center. Gotta love Mom.
The weekend after that, traveled to Connecticut to train a new CONSER member. If you don’t know or care what that means, let’s just say I went up to Hartford for work. Pleasant enough. Nice people at the state lib. there. Got to fire up the laptop in the hotel lobby w/ wireless internet. Pit-stop in Jersey on the way back. Nice to get out of the office.
Finally, this last weekend — RELAXED! No plans. Went down to Sterling to do some grilling with John and Michelle. A stellar london broil (John), home potatoes au gratin (moi), and some tasty bleu cheese biscuits (Michelle). And no deep-fried Oreos. Hah.
And that’s that.
